Wizz Air baggage: sizes, weights and what the ticket includes

Updated October 23, 2026

A Wizz Air fare includes only a small bag. Everything else is extra, and the later you buy it, the more it costs. These are the rules we are asked about most.

What the ticket includes

One small bag or backpack, at most 40 × 30 × 20 cm, that fits under the seat in front. It holds a laptop, documents and, if you travel light, a few days of clothes.

A bigger cabin bag: WIZZ Priority

For a wheeled case in the cabin you need WIZZ Priority. It adds a cabin bag of up to 10 kg, at most 55 × 40 × 23 cm, and priority boarding. You keep the small bag too.

Checked luggage

Checked bags go in the hold: you can choose 10, 20, 26 or 32 kg. The price depends on the route and the date. A bag is booked for one passenger, but it can carry two people's things.

When to buy

Luggage is cheapest bought with the ticket. Later, online, it costs more, and at the airport the most. It is also expensive if a bag turns out too big at boarding.

Check-in

Online check-in is free on Wizz Air; checking in at the airport costs extra. Check in ahead and keep the boarding pass on your phone.

In our tours

A Select Tour package includes the flight with a small bag. You add checked luggage or Priority while booking, before you pay, and see the price straight away, so the luggage is bought with the ticket, at its cheapest.

Common mistakes

Handles and wheels count in a bag's size. In the cabin, most airports allow liquids only in containers of up to 100 ml, in one clear bag. Power banks and spare batteries must go in the cabin, never in checked luggage.

Wizz Air may change its rules and sizes: check the latest on the airline's site before you fly.
